“Forgiveness is the answer to the child’s dream of a miracle by which what is broken is made whole again, what is soiled is made clean again.” Dag Hammarskjold
The Forgiveness. 20×30 in. 51×76 cm. Acrylic on canvas by Clinock.
John, this new painting is haunting. In a good way – I can definitely see remnants of Mexico-influenced iconography entering into your work, if this one was created post-artist residence. Hope you are well in these rough times, and continue working! It’s quite good, your new pieces!
Patricia, good to see you again and thank you for your perceptive comments. Yes, Mexico is part of my soul now so it’s images and ghosts of its images will emerge in my work from time to time. ‘Forgiveness’ is not one of my residency paintings, it’s part of a new series begun recently. Hope you are well too, rough and strange times indeed.
Good to hear from you Patricia and thanks for your perceptive comment. Yes, Mexico is part of my soul now although ‘Forgiveness’ is not a residency painting, it’s one of a new series begun recently. I hope you are well also and surviving these ‘rough’ and very strange times. Take great care.
